Today so SUI

This morning 7.35am when i went to take my car to work, i realized my car battery was dead. It seems like i left the head lamp on for whole night... I have to call a friend to pick me up to work then. so sui already.
Then, by 8.15am when I was happily taking my breakfast in the canteen, suddenly the coordinator and another lecturer told me my student just met with an accident and the parents werehere to see me! GOSH! Dunno how serious the guy was, I was worried like hell, and MORE, the parents came to accuse me! I said to myself, this would be the end of my career. First thing the parents questioned us why his son was always home late sometimes not even home, and always claimed that he got a lot of homeworks, shootings and productions to do, and that they think the accident was due to his tiredness. To be honest, I was kinda speechless that time... as the matter of fact, I do really push my students to the max, so I have to bear, partly, the responsibility. However, I can't show my anxiety, so I "calmly" told the parents that yes, it's true that his son was really busy because it's his last semester and he was rushing for his final production, moreover it is a short semester, so everything is kinda compact. Then the parents looked at me...... and said, "that's good, at first we thought he is lying to us. since it's true that he is genuinely rushing for his projects, then it's OKAY!"....... I TELL U!!! I was like - DAMN, what a relief!!! and the 2nd thought is - what an understanding parents! So, no finger-pointing like i expected, just very mature adult talk. phewwww.... but the coordinator want me and another lecturer to come out with some kinda solutions to protect ourselves next time. we might not be that lucky next time. So, i think we have to let the students sign some sorta consent form or let the parents sign. (although i think it's not going to help much lah!)
Then the rest of the day was okay okay lah. got home, call a mechanic, spent f***ing RM160 for car batt replaced - well, so expensive because it's the type that do not need to check water from time to time one. according to a fren, it also tahan lama sikit wor. but the best thing is no need to check water level from time to time.
Already past up the final draft of thesis to supervisor through email, coz no car to go there what... will be meeting him again tomorrow for discussion. Already taken leaves again tomorrow afternoon and wednesday... guess what? ya-lah, to fine tune the thesis lah, what else.
now want to catch Oscar replay on TV3. so good night everyone.
ps. heard Aviator lost best film. should be Million Dollar Baby then... wonder if Martin Scorsese win best director... shall find out!

Finally over - Stars Education Fair

so finally finished the education fair duty, so tired. like today, never really stop talking for 4 hours, so many patrons and parents, people people people... i pening lah. but time flies so fast. so many form 5 students come for the fair, maybe because the teacher or the school send them, a lot like Poh Tey, Jit Sin... but my marketing ppl said don't focus on them cause they are not yet the target audience... but i don't think so cause they are potential clients what... next year after their SPM if we give them good impression, they might come to our college who knows right? hopefully will have a lot of students, although none of my business already for i kinda 90% sure i'm going to leave the college by August. but still i wish the college will do well. maybe so "sui" i cannot find any job in KL, then i'll be forced to stay one more semester, at least my reputation still good lah. ^_^
now is the time to really quicken my speed of writing thesis already. originally plan to at least finish all chapter by friday, now i guess i have to finish by tonight, then email or hand to my supervisor to check through while i do my fine tuning by monday - wednesday. feel my energy is drained to the last drop already... so tired!!! I want to sleep... shall i take a nap?? can i? not sure really. will still write until cannot tahan then will take a half hour nap then.

Here I am again!

Woke up 9am today, started to write a few paragraphs and get bored!! guess that's me, always have the tendency to delay thing, push things to the last minute... When will you ever learn Teddy?? Knock my head.

Yup, originally planned to finish my thesis by yesterday, so I guess I failed lah. gosh, talk about pride and self-esteem! Now, my "newer" plan is to finish it by tomorrow, at least by doing so I still can hand it to my supervisor on Monday and he'll have time to check through it in 1 week time or so. At this time, do not really expect good grade for my thesis already, just a B+ I'll be damn happy already.

Lessons of LIFE, get real!

To anyone with kids of any age, here's some advice.
Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this!

Bill Gates High School Address

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair . . . get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping . . . they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

If you can read this, Thank a teacher!
-ps- this is what I've always wanted to tell my students, but I wonder how many of them could actually listen and not merely hear. I really wonder...

Just another sleepless night

I am so pressured! It's about 2am now, and I'm struggling in writing my thesis... it's seems like an neverending story and I'm sicked of it!! I'm going to sleep soon.
Anyway, I'm planning to write a book about local Chinese Independent Films. I would like to collect all the datas of independent films, such as those from James Lee, Ho YuHang, so that those works are properly archived. I feel it also serves the purpose of recording the struggling of Chinese filmmakers in Malaysia so that people understand how Chinese as minority fight for a fair chance in the local film industry. It has never been fair.
There will also be a new film release in 24/2/05 "Sepet" directed by Yasmin Ahmad. It is a story about how a Chinese guy and a Malay girl fell for each other. This film has suffered 8 cuts from our DEAR film censorboard of Malaysia (Lembaga Penapisan Film, LPF) in order to get shown to public. Originally LPF planned to ban the film, because they, as representative of the "people", find that the film should be banned! How bizarre? But, please please support Yasmin by watching her films. Malaysia needs directors with this caliber.
You all can read more about the whole thing in Yasmin Ahmad's blog here:

Now I'm at home writing thesis... and online too lah!

Have taken leaves for these 2 days - today and tomorrow, so guess what, writing thesis at home. i think i'm progressing well. have already finished chapter 3, today whole day i watched the movie over and over again, a lot of observation, thinking and making notes, tomorrow will sit in front of the computer whole day to write chapter 4 - the analysis of the film.
the progress is slow i know, (a lot of frens have already begged me to fasten up coz they are waiting for me to go karaoke "all night long 7pm-3am" at RedBox) but hey i dun want to stress myself up, i want to enjoy what i'm doing... so here you see, i'm taking leave, at ease of my own place, and slowly writing it.
1 of the reason i'm taking leave these 2 days is also becoz the college want me to go to the stupid education fair at PISA this weekends. 4 hours each for saturday and sunday. somemore PISA is in Penang area, so the college do not provide meal allowance wor.... so sui! sigh.... so i'm just going to take it easy also since i'm leaving soon what. hahaha!
yesterday my coordinator already set the timetable for next semester, i'm going to teach 3 papers that is about 16 hours per week. guess it's going to be ok, coz all papers i've lectured before, so no need to worry about notes and transparencies. also i would have finished my master already... so yahooooo, can't wait to finish my thesis!!! then i'm back alive!!!
My sis is back from Taiwan, and she managed to buy me some ori DVD - 《不见。不散》,《拥抱大白熊》,《十七岁的天空》,《艳光四射歌舞团》。
so happy, can't wait to finish thesis!!! hahaha.

I'm new

so be nice
